OCC Holiday Card Workshop - Day 5 of class

Good Morning!

How are you today? Good I hope! I tried to make a more masculine card for the 5th day of class for the Online Card Classes Holiday Card Workshop 2013. I think there may be too much glitter on it to make it very masculine but it is blue! I think a guy could handle a little glitter right? Anyways, I used the largest Fancy Flakes die from Papertrey and cut it out of Enchanted Evening cardstock. The card base is Spring Rain cardstock. I also used Enchanted Evening ink. The sentiment is from the Instant Photo: Holidays stamp set. All of this is from Papertrey, because I have a serious addiction! The glitter is some blue Stickles that I got from Michaels.

So, like I said, not sure if it's very masculine, but I like it! Thanks for having a look at my blog and my card! Comments are appreciated and welcome!

OCC Holiday Card Workshop 2013 - Day 3 of class

Hello again!

I had a chance to make another card with the Rustic Wreath stamp set from Papertrey. This one I tried to keep clean and simple for the 3rd day of class of the OCC Holiday Card Workshop 2013. Clean and simple is hard for me, I always seem to want to fill up all of that space! Anyways, I used Rustic Cream cardstock and Pine Feather ink from Papertrey. I colored the wreath in with some Crayola colored pencils using two different greens for some shading. I also used a bit of red stickles that I got at Michaels for some berries. I really like how this one turned out and like how easy and quick it was to make (I guess that's the beauty of clean and simple).

Hope you like it and thanks for visiting my blog! Have a fabulous day!

Festive Friday #21 take 2

Hello Hello!

I made another card for the Festive Friday #21 challenge. I'm also going to post this to the Online Card Classes Holiday Card Workshop 2013 for the Day 2 class forum. I used Papertrey Ink's Rustic Wreath stamp set and the related die. I used Pure Poppy and Stampers Select White cardstock and Candy Cane Prints paper, all from Papertrey. I also used a bit of red and white bakers twine and some clear Stickles glitter glue that I got at Michaels.

Anyways, hope you like it! Comments are welcome and appreciated! Have a great day!

OCC Holiday Card Workshop - Day 1 again

Third post for today! Woohoo! I'll get right to it. Again mostly Papertrey Ink products. Aqua mist cardstock again (other side of the base from the first card, previous post) and Melon Berry. The tag die is Tag Sale #8 (new in October). Stamp sets used include Winter Hills, Stylish Sentiments: Holiday, and Background Basics: Medallions. The Medallions were stamped in white ink across the whole card base, so they are not very noticeable, but add a little something. I also sprayed the whole base with some perfect pearls mist for a little shine. The tag is actually a shaker tag. I made a little snow bank inside the shaker and covered it in a white glitter from Michaels. I then filled the shaker with the same glitter to make it seem like snow. I really like how this card turned out!

Thanks again for looking! I had lots of posts today! I guess I'm trying to make up for the week I missed. ;)

OCC Holiday Card Workshop 2013 - Day 1

Hello again!

Second post for the day! I am on a roll! Lol! This post is for a card I made for the first day of the Online Card Classes Holiday Card Workshop 2013. I love these classes. I've taken the last two holiday workshops and would love to take some other classes, I just never seem to have the time! Luckily you can go on and take them anytime, so maybe one day I'll get a chance to do another one. Again my card was made with Papertrey Ink products. I seem to have some kind of addiction to them I know!

On this card I used Aqua Mist Card stock for the base. The snowflake is made with Pure Poppy cardstock and the banner is their white cardstock. The snowflake is the largest in the Fancy Flakes die collection. I also stamped the entire card base with their Background Basics: Christmas Joy stamp set. Lastly the sentiment is from their Holiday Cheer stamp set.

I'm going to do another post after this one for another card I made for this same class and day. Thanks for looking and commenting if you would like!

Merry Monday #83

Hello there!

Today I am posting a card I made for the Merry Monday #83 challenge. This is my first time entering this challenge, but I hope to do many more. I love making Christmas cards, so making them all year would be fabulous! So, I made this card using mostly Papertrey Ink products. I used their White and Pure Poppy card stocks. Stamps sets used include Background Basics: Super Stripes and Happiest of Holidays. Dies used include Mat Stack #3 and the Coffee Cozy Details (the heart). I also used Pure Poppy and Dark Chocolate felt for the hearts. Non Papertrey items used include embroidering thread on the hearts and the gold stickles used on the stripes. I really like this color combo, I think its very warm and homey. Anyways, hope you like the card!
Thanks for looking and commenting if you like! Have a great day!

Square frame

Hello!

I missed a week! Not good, but I was pretty busy last week. My niece got married and my dogs are kind of sick so I was dealing with that. I made the invitations for my nieces wedding. I might have to post them sometime. She only needed 40 so that wasn't too bad. Anyways, I had a chance to make a card for the most recent PTI Make it Monday #139, so I am here to post it. I'm also entering it into the Festive Fridays challenge #21 which is to use white, red, and aqua. I used the Candy Cane Christmas and the Background Basics: Christmas Joy stamp sets from Papertrey along with their paper.
I also used some Scor-tape and glitter from Michaels to add the strips of glitter on top and bottom.

I made another card with a frame, this one is rectangular and I used the new Stitching Lines dies from Papertrey to make the frame and some pink embroidery floss. I also used the Polka Dot Parade #9 stamp set and die and the raspberry fizz pattern paper pack. I'm not entering it in the MIM because I didn't use a stamp for the frame but thought I would post it anyway because I thought it turned out pretty cute. The base of the card is Soft Stone and the paper with the frame is Sweet Blush I believe.

That's it for this post, but I'm definitely hoping to post this coming week too. Here is a picture of my puppies just because I love them and they are cute! This is a pic from last Christmas.
Anyways, thanks for stopping by! Hope you like my projects!

Papertrey October Blog Hop Challenge - Take 2

Hello again!!!

Second blog post of the day. Doing pretty good if I do say so myself. This next set of tags were all made as two part tags. There is the top part of the tag with a sentiment and then part of it has been cut out with a holiday die cut. The tag behind the top has the "to" and "from" on it. I thought they turned out pretty cute and were kind of different. This is another post with a bunch of pictures, hope you don't mind!

I cut some clear cardstock, Scarlet Jewel cardstock, and Rustic Cream cardstock with the tag sale #1 die. Then I cut the Joy using the wonderful words die from the Scarlet Jewel tag and used the peace love stamp from the related stamp set. I used the clear tag and attached it to the back of the Scarlet Jewel tag so that I could attach the middle of the "o" in Joy. I stamped the Joy from the stamp set on the second piece of the tag so that is shows through the cut out on the front portion. The "to" and "from" was stamped on all of the tags using the From Me To You stamp set.

I used the Snow wonderful words stamp set and die for this tag. Pretty much the same concept as the Joy tag. I cut this tag from Aqua Mist cardstock, clear cardstock, and Enchanted Evening cardstock.

I used the smallest of the Fancy Flakes dies on this tag. I cut the tag from Melon Berry cardstock, Aqua Mist cardstock, and clear cardstock. This is also pretty much the same concept as the Joy tag. I attached the clear cardstock behind the Melon Berry and then adhered the cut snowflake to the clear cardstock. I used a sentiment from the Winter Hills stamp set.

I used the Coffee Cozy details die collection to do the tree on this tag. I stitched it up using some pink embroidery floss. The sentiment is from Holiday Lights stamp set. I used Hibiscus Burst cardstock and Kraft cardstock.

For this last tag I used Vintage Cream cardstock, New Leaf cardstock, and clear cardstock. I used the wreath die from the Holiday Cheer dies to cut the wreath out of the Vintage Cream layer and used the wreath stamp from the Holiday Cheer stamp set and stamped it on the New Leaf layer. I used stickles glitter to fill in the wreath. I didn't realize it at the time but I used the same sentiment on this tag as I did on the tree tag above! Just thought it was kind of funny.

Anyways, long post I know. Sorry! Hope you like my tags and that you have a great day!

Papertrey October Blog Hop Challenge

Good Morning!

WooHoo! Another blog post under my belt. I think this really is helping to keep me making stuff and participating in the multiple contests. I keep finding more and more challenges and contests that I want to try! I actually even wrote this post earlier and tested out the scheduling function for the blog. Very exciting!

Anyhoo, I made these five tags over the last weekend. I had a bunch of these die cuts from the PTI Mat Stack 4 die leftover from making my friends Christmas cards last year, so I thought I would use a few to make these tags. They are made with PTI New Leaf card stock. I decided to make them so that they sort of matched in style so I used the PTI Holiday Cheer stamp set for all of them. I also used the To You From Me stamp set for all of the "to and from's". Here are the pics:

I have to say that I think the white embossed trees is my favorite one! There is glitter on every single one, which is nothing new for me. I can't seem to stop myself! I'm still trying to decide if I want to put the twine on each one or just used them with adhesive on the back. Thanks so much for visiting my blog, I hope you enjoyed your visit! Come again soon!

PTI Make it Monday #136 - Textured Stamping

Hi!

Well I'm just barely going to make it for this Make it Monday, but at least I made it! I made another Christmas card, since I can't seem to stop making Christmas stuff. I need the cards anyway so it works out. I used the PTI Christmas Poinsettia stamp set and dies and the Happiest of Holidays sentiment stamp set. I also used PTI white cardstock and ink in Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel and Pinefeather (for the sentiment). I spread stickles on the two Pure Poppy flowers, but it's hard to see on the one because I used a clear kind and the other one I used red and the pictures just look like there are little dots all over the flower. I liked this technique. It was definitely a good way to add a little "something" to your card without a lot of effort or additional materials. Anyways, here are the pics.

Thanks for coming to check out my project! Have a great day!

PTI Make it Monday #135 - Layered Emboss Resist - Second Act

Hello again!

So originally I had posted both cards in one post, but then realized I couldn't enter them both in the challenge without each one having a separate URL! You live and learn I guess! At least now I know!

Ok my next card I'm on the fence about. I kind of like it, I like the simplicity of it, but I think maybe I should have done water coloring rather than using the ink blending tool. Also I sprayed it with some gold perfect pearls mist and I think I went a little crazy!

I took a Vintage Cream card base and stamped a sentiment and the largest flower from the PTI Christmas Poinsettia stamp set. I stamped the sentiment so that it would be in the middle of the flower, stamped in PTI True Black ink, and then stamped the flower in Versamark over the sentiment and then heat embossed in clear. I took my ink blending tool and some PTI Pure Poppy ink and blended the ink onto the rest of the card base. I stamped a few snowflakes from PTI's Instant Photo: Holidays stamp set in gold ink and then sprayed the whole thing with the perfect pearls mist. I used a damp paper towel to wipe any excess ink and mist off of the flower. Like I said, not sure I love it. I may try it again only with water coloring instead.

Let me know what you think! Thanks for visiting a second time!

PTI Make it Monday #135 - Layered Emboss Resist

Hello!

Well its my second week of posting - so far so good! I made two cards for this challenge, which is pretty impressive for me. Maybe my blogging plan is working out! :)

Anyways, for this first card I used PTI's Holiday Lights stamp set for the background pattern. I used PTI ink in Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, Simply Chartreuse, and True Black.  Then I stamped a few different snowflakes from PTI's Snowflake Medley stamp set in Versamark and then embossed them with clear embossing powder. All of this was done on PTI Vintage Cream cardstock. I then used a blending tool and the Raspberry Fizz ink and colored in the background a bit, which of course resisted the snowflakes! Finally I stamped the sentiment from PTI's Think Big Favorites mini stamp set on some Vintage Cream cardstock with True Black ink and adhered it to the background. I mounted the whole thing onto a Hawaiian Shores card base. I have to say I really like how this card turned out!

I really need to get better at taking pictures! Part of the problem is that I am usually doing it at night and therefore can't get very good light. Something I need to work on I guess!

I will have another post in just a few minutes with my second card!

Thanks for visiting my blog today! Comments are welcome, please come again!

New to blogging and PTI Make It Monday #134

Hello! Well this is my first blog post ever! I'm a little nervous and obviously feel like I have no idea what I'm doing, but I think it will be a fun learning experience. Plus hopefully having a blog will motivate me to craft more. Considering I do work full time I find that the ability to get crafty sometimes goes by the wayside. As much as I want to craft all the time, there just doesn't seem to be enough time! I also don't really have a dedicated crafting space that I can just go to and start crafting, I have to physically get all my stuff out of various containers and get set up before I can even begin! I'm hoping to at least be able to post to this blog once a week, which would mean being able to be crafty at least once a week. We'll see how it goes! :)

Anyways, enough complaining! I made a card for the PTI Make It Monday Challenge #134. I used the newest Wonderful Words mini PTI stamp set - Joy. I also used their inks and cardstock. I glittered up the Joy word, because I just can't seem to make almost anything without some glitter!

I hope you like my card, comments are welcome! Thanks for visiting! Hopefully I'll have another post next week! ;)
